Pressure Cooker Ginger Sesame Beef
Skip takeout with this easy recipe that uses the power of pressure cooking to turn a budget-friendly cut of meat into a meal the whole family will love.
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp (15 mL) olive oil
- 1½ lbs. (700 g) beef chuck, cut into strips
- 2 garlic cloves, diced
- ⅓ cup (75 mL) soy sauce
- ⅓ cup (75 mL) water or beef broth
- ⅓ cup (75 mL) packed brown sugar
- 2 tsp (10 mL fresh ginger, grated
- 1 tsp (5 mL) toasted sesame oil
- 1½ tbsp (22 mL) cornstarch
- Optional: Green onions, sesame seeds, cooked rice, steamed broccoli
Directions
- Set the Deluxe Multi Cooker to SEAR on high for 30 minutes; press START. Heat the oil for 1–3 minutes, then brown half the beef for 7–10 minutes. Press CANCEL. Repeat with the remaining beef.
- Whisk together the remaining ingredients in a bowl and pour the mixture over the beef. Set to CUSTOM for 10 minutes; press START. When the timer is up, press CANCEL. Let the pressure release naturally for 10 minutes, then press the steam-release button.
- Serve with cooked rice and steamed broccoli, and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds, if you’d like.
