IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

• Read, understand, and follow all Safety and Use Instructions to avoid injury.

WARNING

	• Do not open the Deluxe Multi Cooker until all internal pressure has been released. Never force the lid open when in use or when contents are pressurized as indicated by the visible red pressure indicator on the lid. If the handle is difficult to turn, this indicates that the unit is still pressurized—do not force it open. Any pressure in the unit can be hazardous. See the following pages for details.
	• This unit releases hot steam. Keep everything, including hands, face, and body, away from the steam-release valve while the unit is in operation or while the unit is venting. Position the steam-release valve at least six inches (15 cm) away from any overhang or walls.
	• Do not move this unit while in operation or when it is pressurized.

• • Use heat-resistant oven mitts or pads when handling hot items.
• • Never leave the unit unattended while using.

	• Never fill the inner pot past the 2/3 PC MAX line. When cooking foods that expand during cooking, such as rice or dried vegetables, do not fill the unit above the halfway point. Overfilling may cause a risk of clogging the steam-release valve cover and excess pressure may develop. See “How to Use Menu Settings” for specific food instructions.
	• The Deluxe Multi Cooker cooks under pressure. Improper use may result in a scalding injury. Make certain all lid components are properly assembled and the unit is properly closed before operating. There will be a musical tone when lid is properly closed. See the following pages for assembly instructions.

• • Spilled food can cause serious burns. Keep the unit and electric cord away from children. Never drape the electric cord over the edge of a counter, never use an outlet below the counter, and never use with an extension cord.

• During cooking, do not cover the steam-release valve with a cloth or other item.

• • A short power-supply cord is used to reduce the risk resulting from it being grabbed by children, becoming entangled in, or tripping over a longer cord.
• • Never deep fry or pressure fry in the unit with oil. It is dangerous and may cause a fire, serious damage, or injury.
• • Only cook in the included inner pot. Never pour liquid or food directly into the unit without the inner pot. Doing so will damage the unit and void the warranty.
• • Do not use the stainless steel inner pot in the oven or microwave, or on the stovetop or grill. Use of the inner pot on other appliances may cause deformations which can negatively affect future performance of the unit.
• • Do not operate the unit on an unstable surface.
• • Never operate the unit on or near flammable materials such as newspapers or paper plates.
• • This appliance and cord should not be used by and kept out of reach of children. To avoid possible accidental injury, close supervision is required when the appliance is used around children or individuals whose physical, sensory, or mental abilities may prevent safe use of the appliance.
• • Do not operate the unit near water, open flames, or sources of heat.

• Do not put foreign objects into gaps and crevices of the unit. It is prohibited to insert utensils or other foreign matter into gaps or crevices. This may cause electric shock or other dangerous accidents.

• • Do not attempt to modify or repair the Deluxe Multi Cooker or any part inside the Deluxe Multi Cooker, as this may cause electric shock, fire, or injury.

• After using Natural or Manual steam release, ensure the pressure indicator is down before attempting to open the lid. See p. 11 for definitions of Natural and Manual steam release.

• • For the STERILIZE setting, only use water and no other liquids (i.e., bleach, lemon juice).
• • For all non-pressure settings, such as YOGURT, SLOW COOK, and SOUS VIDE, the unit will vent steam about every five minutes. There will be three successive tones indicating this venting. Keep everything away from the steam-release valve while the unit is in operation or while the unit is venting including hands, face, and body. Additionally, position the steam release valve away from any overhang or walls at least 6 inches (15 cm).

• The steam icon must face the front of the Deluxe Multi Cooker. Before each use, make sure the steam icon on the vent faces the same direction as the front of the unit.

• Extreme caution must be used when moving this unit. • Only move the unit when it is not in use and is cool. • To avoid injury, do not move the unit when it contains hot food or if the lid is in the lid rest. • To avoid damage, never lift the entire unit by the lid handle.

• Do not bend, kink, stretch, or compress the silicone seals, as this may cause the unit to fail, malfunction, steam to escape unintentionally, or cause injury to the user.

• • Intended for countertop use only.
• • Do not expose the unit to direct sunlight.

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed including the following:

• • This unit is for household use only; it is not intended for commercial use. Do not use outdoors.
• • Do not place the unit on or near a hot gas cooktop, induction cooktop, or electric burner, or inside a heated oven, or near any other sources of heat.
• • To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse or operate the unit, cord, or plugs in water or other liquid.
• • Unplug from the outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool completely before cleaning, and before putting on or taking off parts.
• • Do not operate the unit if any part of the base, lid, inner pot, or plug is damaged or if the unit malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner. Call the Solution Center at (888) 687-2433 (United States) or (800) 342-2433 (Canada) for replacement options.
• • Only use accessories that are sold by Pampered Chef and are recommended for use with this unit. The use of accessory attachments not sold or recommended by Pampered Chef may cause injuries. Any accessory that has been damaged in any manner should not be used.
• • Do not let the cord touch hot surfaces.
• • Do not use this product for anything other than the intended use as outlined in this use and care.
• • Check that the On/Off switch is in the Off position before plugging the cord into the wall outlet. To disconnect, turn all cooking functions to Off, then remove the plug from the wall outlet.
• • Always check the steam-release valve, steam-release valve cover, and pressure indicator for any obstructions before each use. See the following pages for details.
• • When using the Delay setting, keep food safety in mind as meat, fish, and other perishable foods may spoil or cause illness if delayed for too long at room temperature. Never leave the unit unattended while using the Delay setting.
• • Do not touch any hot surfaces. Use heat-resistant oven mitts or pads when handling hot items.
• • Never deep fry or pressure fry in the unit with oil.
• • Do not let cord hang over edge of a ledge and it should not touch hot surfaces.
• • Use caution when cooking foods (such as applesauce, cranberries, pearl barley, oatmeal or other cereals, split peas, noodles, macaroni, rhubarb, or spaghetti) which may foam, froth, or sputter in the pressure cooker and clog the steam-release valve. Make sure the steam-release valve and pressure indicator are clean prior to use with any food application. Be sure to keep foods at or below the half fill line.

ELECTRICAL HAZARD

• • Persons with pacemakers or users of hearing aids or cochlear implants should consult with authorized medical personnel before use. Refer to the instructions of medical equipment providers.
• • To reduce the risk of electric shock, cook only in the provided removable inner pot.
• • Do not use anything other than a 120V- 60Hz power outlet. Failure to use AC 120V-60Hz electricity or dedicated electricity can cause electrical shock, fire, or other dangerous accidents.
• • Do not immerse, submerge, or sprinkle the unit with liquids. Doing so could cause electric shock and electrical short.
• • Do not submerge the lid in liquids. See cleaning section for more instructions.

• This unit has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician.

• • Inspect the cord and unit for damage before each use.
• • Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way.
• • If the plug fits loosely into the outlet, or if the outlet feels warm, do not use that outlet.
• • Do not insert or remove the plug with wet hands. In order to avoid injuries due to electric shock, make sure your hands are dry before plugging and unplugging the unit.
• • Do not plug into a power strip or an outlet with another appliance. This product should be used with a dedicated outlet. A grounded socket of more than 10A rated current shall be used alone. If shared with other appliances, the socket may cause electrical shock, fire, or other dangerous accidents.
• • Always unplug when not in use. Otherwise, it may cause electrical leakage, fire, or failure.

HOW TO USE MENU SETTINGS

1. Lock and Unlock Symbols The lock symbol will be lit when the lid is on and secured or removed entirely. The unlock symbol will be lit when the lid is not secured properly. 2. Thermometer Choose the temperature in certain settings. 3. Pressure Displays the pressure level in each setting. The pressure level can be only be adjusted in the CUSTOM setting. 4. Delay Lets you delay cook times up to 24 hours. Note: Does not work for SEAR, EGG, SOUS VIDE, YOGURT, or STERILIZE. 5. Keep Warm Keeps food warm after cooking is complete up to four hours. Note: Does not work for SEAR, EGG, SOUS VIDE, YOGURT, or STERILIZE. 6. Volume Press CANCEL and the START together for 2 seconds to get to another screen to adjust the volume.

7. Temp. Unit Press CANCEL and START together for 2 seconds to get to another screen and scroll to choose either Fahrenheit or Celsius. 8. Brightness Press CANCEL and START together for 2 seconds to get to another screen and scroll to adjust brightness. 9. Alt For those who live in high altitudes. Press CANCEL and START together for 2 seconds to get to another screen and scroll to adjust altitude if needed. 10. Steam-Release Button Press to release pressure when cooking is done. 11. Selector Wheel/Start Button Turn the wheel to select settings, time, and temperature. Press and hold the wheel until the cooking cycle starts. 12. Cancel Press CANCEL at any time to cancel an operation.

CLEANING

• • WARNING: Before cleaning the unit, unplug the power cord and let the Deluxe Multi Cooker cool completely.
• • The lid is hand-wash only.
• • The body can be wiped clean with a damp cloth.
• • The inner pot, wire rack, and silicone ring are dishwasher-safe when placed away from the heating elements.
• • Clean before using for the first time and after each use.
• • You may notice black shavings around the lip of the base during the first several uses. This is normal. Just wipe off with a damp towel.
• • To deep clean the inside of the lid and silicone ring: Place 2 cups (500 mL) of distilled white vinegar or water and 1 lemon rind in the inner pot and for 2 minutes.
• • Make sure all parts are clean and dry before storing. For best results, store with lid open to prevent retaining odors.
• • If doesn’t work correctly, contact the Solution Center.

IMPORTANT COOKING PRECAUTIONS

Before first use:

• 1. Remove all packaging. Note: There is a clear flexible covering the On/Off switch—do not remove.
• 2. Read through this document.
• 3. Wipe the inner pot and the inside of the lid with warm, soapy water. Rinse, and dry thoroughly.
• 4. Wipe the outside of the unit with a clean, damp cloth.
• 5. Wash the silicone ring in the dishwasher.

Before each use:

1. Check the steam-release valve, steam-release valve cover, and pressure indicator for any obstructions.

• 2. Make sure the steam-release valve and pressure indicator assembly are in the sealed position.
• 3. Before locking the lid, make sure there is nothing inside the pot that can obstruct the lid. If the lid is obstructed, the lid can lock in place and will not be removable.
  • CAUTION
  • • Wipe the bottom exterior surface of the inner pot, as well as the heating element with a clean, dry cloth to make sure they are free of any foreign objects.
  • • Check the steam-release valve and steam-release valve cover for clogging before use. Do not cover the steam-release valve or pressure indicator.
  • • The unit should be placed so any exhaust does not vent directly onto the kitchen cabinets. Steam may damage cabinets when the steam-release valve is opened, and steam is directly being released onto cabinets.
  • • Do not use if the silicone ring is damaged. Contact the Solution Center for replacement parts.

After cooking has started:

• 1. WARNING: Do not open the Deluxe Multi Cooker until after the cooking cycle has stopped, and all internal pressure has been released. If the pressure indicator is up, the unit is still pressurized. If the lid is difficult to open, this indicates that the unit is still pressurized: DO NOT force it open. Any pressure in the unit can be hazardous. Please see the “Preparing to Cook” section for details.
• 2. If steam is releasing through the steam-release valve and not pressurizing, make sure the lid is fully closed and the steam-release valve is in the seated position by having the steam icon face the front of the unit.
• 3. Upon reaching pressure, the lid may raise slightly, and a very slight gap will be noted between the lid and the base.

CAUTION: If the unit is moved or bumped during cooking, small bursts of steam may be released through steam-release valve. If this happens, keep your hands, face, and body away from steam-release valve.

After cooking is complete:

• 1. WARNING: After cooking, use extreme caution when removing the lid. Always open the lid away from you to avoid skin contact with any heat or steam. Serious burns can result from steam inside the unit.
• 2. CAUTION: If excessive spattering occurs when steam is manually released, allow the contents to sit for 15 minutes before manually releasing steam again.
• 3. CAUTION: When opening the lid after cooking, do not touch the inner pot or the inside of the lid with to avoid scalding.
• 4. CAUTION: The stainless steel inner pot will be hot during and after cooking. Use a long-handled utensil when stirring and removing food.

Additional tips:

• • When cooking at a high altitude, a longer cooking time will be required. You can adjust the altitude on the LCD screen. Please contact Pampered Chef if you have any questions regarding high-altitude cook times.
• • The silicone ring may expand after back-to-back usage causing the seal to fit loosely, and prevent the unit from pressurizing. If this happens, place the silicone ring in cold water for a few minutes to bring it back to its normal shape.
• • You may notice black shavings around lip of the base during the first several uses. This is normal. Just wipe off with a damp towel.

INITIAL TEST RUN

This takes about 30 minutes

• 1. Position the Deluxe Multi Cooker so the steam-release valve is away from any overhang or walls. Plug in the unit, then turn the lid counterclockwise and lift.
• 2. Add water to the 2/3 PC MAX line in the inner pot and close the lid.
• 3. Turn the wheel until STEAM is lit. Press the wheel and turn to adjust the time to 2 minutes.
• 4. Press the wheel until Keep Warm flashes. Press and hold the wheel to start.
• 5. The circle indicator on the center display will show the preheating progress.
• 6. In about 25 minutes, a little steam may escape and then the pressure indicator will pop up.
• 7. The circle indicator will now show the cooking progress and the timer will begin to countdown. Once the countdown is done, the unit will beep.
• 8. After cooking, the Keep Warm circle indicator will start, and the timer will count up.
• 9. Press the steam-release button. CAREFUL: STEAM IS HOT! When pressing this button, REL is displayed.
• 10. Once the red pressure indicator on the top of the lid goes down, you can remove the lid.

PREPARING TO COOK

1. Plug the unit in and use the On/Off switch at the back of the unit to turn the unit on. All the lights will illuminate briefly. 2. Open the lid.
	• Holding the lid handle, rotate it approximately ⅛ turn counterclockwise until it stops. You will hear musical notes (if the function is on). Lift the lid up to remove (you will hear the same musical notes if the function is on).
3. Check that all parts on the lid are assembled correctly. Refer to the “Before Each Use” section. 4. Fill the inner pot with liquid and food. Never put liquid or food directly in the base unit without the stainless steel inner pot. Note: To STERILIZE, place water, the wire rack, and what you’re sterilizing in the inner pot.
	• The total amount of food and water should NEVER exceed the 2/3 PC MAX line on the inner pot.
• When cooking foods that expand during cooking (rice and dry vegetables), do not fill past the 1/2 line on the inner pot. • For pressurized cooking, there must be at least 1 cup (250 mL) of water or liquid. If you’re cooking food that will absorb liquid, you may want to add a little more. WARNING: Overfilling may clog the steam-release valve cover and develop excess pressure. This could also cause spills, damage to the unit, or other dangerous accidents.
	5. Put the lid on and close completely. Hold the lid handle and place the lid down offset by ⅛ turn counterclockwise. When placing the lid on, you will hear musical notes again (if the function is on). Once the lid is secured, turn it clockwise until it is closed (musical notes will play again, if the function is on).
• If you’re using a pressurized setting, the lid must be on and locked in order to cook. If the lid is not locked in place, the unit will not be able to start. • If you’re using SEAR, SOUS VIDE, or SLOW COOK, it will work without the lid secured. It is recommended to have the lid on for SOUS VIDE and SLOW COOK to retain the correct temperature. For the SEAR setting, you can place the lid in the lid rest on the unit.
6. Position the steam valve away from any overhang or walls.

HOW TO USE THE CUSTOM SETTING

• • Follow all the steps in the “Preparing to Cook” section.
• • CUSTOM will be blinking. If not, turn the wheel to CUSTOM and press to select.
• • The time clock will blink. Turn the wheel to select the cooking time and press to select.
• • Pressure will blink. Press to select. The pressure level bars will now blink. Turn the wheel to choose the pressure level and press to select. To bypass this setting, turn the wheel until Delay blinks.
• • Delay will blink. The default for Delay is off unless you set it. Press the wheel and turn to set Delay and select. Time can be adjusted in increments of ten minutes up to 24 hours. The delay time is the time it will take to start the cooking cycle and does not consider the amount of time it will take to initially heat up the food or release the pressure. Do not leave the unit unattended while in use. Note: If ready to start cooking, press the wheel and hold to bypass this and the Keep Warm setting and start cooking.
  WARNING: Keep food safety in mind during the delayed start time, as meat, fish, and other perishable foods may spoil or cause illness if delayed for too long at room temperature.
• • Keep Warm will blink. Press to select. Default is on with a default time of 2 hours. To adjust in increments of 30 minutes and up to 4 hours, press the wheel and turn to adjust. Press again when you have selected the desired time, and hold to start the cooking cycle. Note: If ready to start cooking, press the wheel and hold to bypass these settings and start cooking.

• The circle indicator on the center display will show that the unit is preheating and the display will say Run. Once preheating is completed, the display will illuminate Cook and the timer will begin counting down. After cooking is completed, the display will illuminate Keep Warm and timer will begin counting up if turned on.

• • For settings under pressure, when cooking is complete you can release pressure/steam two ways:
  • - Natural release occurs when the cooking cycle is complete. The unit will naturally depressurize as it cools. After letting the pressure naturally release for at least 10 minutes, manually release any additional pressure by pressing the steam-release button.
    Note: If foam comes out of the steam-release valve, press the steam-release button again to close the valve and let the unit naturally release for an additional 10 minutes before manually releasing again. Clean the steam-release valve and the pressure indicator.
  • - Manual release occurs when you press the steam-release button to release pressure right after cooking is complete.
    Note: If foam comes out of the steam-release valve, press the steam-release button again to close the valve and let the unit naturally release for an additional 10 minutes before manually releasing again. Clean the steam-release valve and the pressure indicator.
• • WARNING: After either natural or manual release, make sure the pressure indicator is down before opening the lid.
• • After the Cook and Keep Warm cycles are complete, the display will say End.

HOW TO USE A PRESSURE COOKER PRESET

• • Follow the steps in “Preparing to Cook” section.
• • Turn the wheel to select a setting (see chart below). Once the desired setting is blinking, press to select. The default cook time on the display will blink. Turn the wheel to change to desired amount of time and press.
  Note: You can adjust the time, but not the pressure. If you would like to adjust the pressure, use the CUSTOM setting. Refer to the “How to Use the Custom Setting” section above.
• • Delay will blink. The default for Delay is off unless you set it. Press the wheel and turn to set Delay and select. Time can be adjusted in increments of ten minutes up to 24 hours. The delay time is the time it will take to start the cooking cycle and does not consider the amount of time it will take to initially heat up the food or release the pressure. Do not leave the unit unattended while in use.
  Note: If ready to start cooking, press the wheel and hold to bypass this and the Keep Warm setting and start cooking.
• • WARNING: Keep food safety in mind during the delayed start time, as meat, fish, and other perishable foods may spoil or cause illness if delayed for too long at room temperature.
• • Keep Warm will blink. Press to select. Default is on with a default time of 2 hours. To adjust in increments of 30 minutes up to four hours, press the wheel and turn to adjust. Press again when you have selected the desired Keep Warm time and hold to start the cooking cycle.
  Note: If ready to start cooking, press the wheel and hold to bypass and start cooking.

• The circle indicator will show that unit is preheating and the display will say Run. Once preheating is completed, the display will show Cook and the timer will begin counting down. After cooking is completed, the display will show Keep Warm and timer will begin counting up if turned on.

Steam	15 min	1-45 min	1 min	4	You can use the wire rack to cook vegetables and reheat food. For fresh or frozen vegetables, use 1 cup (250 mL) of water. The cook time will vary depending on the vegetable. See the Cooking Guide for details. We recommend using manual release so food cooks properly. Natural release can overcook food.

Note: After every pressure cooking cycle is complete except , the unit will enter the Keep Warm mode, where it will keep your food warm until you’re ready to eat. You will know that the cooking cycle is complete, and warming has begun, when the display says Keep Warm. The timer will count the minutes that it has been warming for. You can adjust Keep Warm at the beginning of each cooking setting. Foods like rice may overcook or burn on the bottom if held in Keep Warm mode for too long.

OTHER SETTINGS

Note: The Delay setting does not work in SEAR, EGG, SOUS VIDE, YOGURT, and STERILIZE.

SEAR

WARNING: To prevent unintentionally building pressure, never use the lid while using the setting.

• • Follow the steps in “Preparing to Cook” section.
• • Turn the wheel to the SEAR setting and press to select.
• • The time clock will now be blinking. Minimum amount of time is 1 minute and maximum amount of time is 1 hour. It can be changed in increments of 1 minute. Turn the wheel to change the time and press to select.
• • The thermometer will now be blinking. Press to select. Turn the wheel to select Low, Med, or High on the center display; press and hold to start the cooking cycle.
  Note: Low is recommended for sweating vegetables (to soften and gently draw out their flavors). Med is recommended for pan searing and sautéing. High is recommended for stir-frying and browning meat.
• • After pressing the wheel to start, it will take about 3 minutes for the inner pot to heat up.

SLOW COOK

Note:This is not a pressure setting. Because of this, the unit will vent about every 5 minutes. There will be a tone indicating this venting. • • Follow the steps in “Preparing to Cook” section.
•
• Turn the wheel until SLOW COOK blinks and press to select. The thermometer will blink; press to select. Turn the wheel to Low or High and press to select.
• • The time clock will now be blinking.
• • Turn the wheel to change the time and press to select. You can set the time between 30 minutes and 10 hours in increments of 10 minutes.
• • Delay will be blinking. The default is off. Press the wheel and turn to set. Time can be adjusted in increments of ten minutes up to 24 hours. The delay time is the time it will take for the unit to start the cooking cycle and does not consider the amount of time it will take to initially heat up the food or release pressure.
  Note:If ready to start cooking, press the wheel and hold to bypass and start cooking.
• • WARNING: Keep food safety in mind during the delayed start time, as meat, fish, and other perishable foods may spoil or cause illness if delayed for too long at room temperature.
• • Keep Warm will be blinking. To adjust in increments of 30 minutes up to 4 hours, press the wheel and turn to adjust. When you have selected the desired Keep Warm time, press and hold.
  Note: If you’re ready to start cooking, press the wheel and hold to bypass and start cooking.

SOUS VIDE

Note: This is not a pressure setting. Because of this, the unit will vent about every 5 minutes. There will be a tone indicating this venting. To turn off the venting beep reminders, during the cooking cycle, press and hold START for 2 seconds. To stop the venting cycles when using a glass lid, during the cooking cycle, press STEAM-RELEASE for 2 seconds.

• Follow steps in the “Preparing to Cook” section.
• • Fill the inner pot to 1/2 line with water, place in unit, and close the lid. For food weighing over 2 lbs. (1 kg), fill the pot to ½ inch (1 cm) beneath the 1/2 line.
• • Turn the wheel until SOUS VIDE is blinking and press to select.
• • The temperature will blink. Turn the wheel to change the temperature and press to select.
• • The time clock will now be blinking. You can set the time from 10 minutes to 24 hours in 10 minutes increments. Turn the wheel to change the time, press and hold to start the cycle.
• • The unit will begin preheating.
• • When preheating is done, you’ll hear 3 beeps and the display will say Add. It will continue to beep 3 times every 5 minutes for 15 minutes.
• • Open the lid and add the food in a sealed bag(s). Contents in the sealed bag must be submerged, but the seal should remain above water.
  WARNING: Make sure when food is added, the water does not go over 2/3 PC MAX line. If it does, remove food or water, taking caution as the water is hot. Also, make sure the bag(s) do not interfere with closing the lid or block the pressure indicator.
• • Place the lid on and turn clockwise to close.
  Note: The lid is not necessary when cooking Sous Vide, however, it is recommended for optimal temperature control.
• • Press the wheel to start the timer.
• • Once complete, the display will indicate End and unit will beep 3 times. Open and carefully remove the pouches from water with tongs.
  Note: The Keep Warm function will not work in Sous Vide. The temperature will hold for 25 minutes after End and there will be a series of 3 beeps every 5 minutes reminding you to remove your food.
• • Remove the food from the pouches. If not following a recipe, follow the cooking guidelines according to food type and thickness as described in the Cooking Guide.
  Note: It is recommended to use tongs to remove contents from the Deluxe Multi Cooker.

YOGURT

Note: This is not a pressure setting. Because of this, the unit will vent about every 5 minutes. There will be a tone indicating this venting. To turn off the venting beep reminders, during the cooking cycle, press and hold START for 2 seconds. To stop the venting cycles when using a glass lid, during the cooking cycle, press STEAM-RELEASE for 2 seconds.

• • Follow the steps in “Preparing to Cook” section.
• • Turn the wheel until YOGURT blinks and press to select.
• • The time clock will now be blinking. Minimum amount of time is 30 minutes and maximum amount of time is 16 hours. It can be changed in increments of 30 minutes. Turn knob to change time and press to select.
• • The thermometer will blink. Press to select. Turn the wheel to select Low, Med, or High depending on your recipe.
  Note: Low is 91°F (33°C), Medium is 98°F (37°C), and High is 105°F (40°C).
• • Press the wheel and hold to start the timer.
• • After cooking is complete, the display will say End.
  TIP: You can proof dough in the YOGURT setting on Med.

WARNING: Always use pasteurized milk and follow the recipe directions. There is a yogurt recipe in the Cooking Guide.

STERILIZE

Note: Sterilize can be used for most ceramic, silicone, metal, and glass items. To prevent breaking and shattering, do not put glass in cold water or on a cold surface after removing from the unit. Metals, like carbon steel and aluminum, may oxidize. These materials should have a surface treatment or finish to protect raw material. Do not let sit in water.

WARNING:STERILIZE should not be used in place of cleaning the Deluxe Multi Cooker or other products.

WARNING: For STERILIZE setting, only use water and no other liquids (i.e., bleach, lemon juice).

• • Follow steps in the “Preparing to Cook” section.
• • Place the wire rack on the bottom of the inner pot and fill with 2 cups (500 mL) of water.
  Note: Items being sterilized must be above the water level and not sit in the water. Place the lid on the unit.
• • Turn the wheel to STERILIZE and press to select.
• • The default time is set to 30 minutes. Minimum amount of time is 30 minutes and maximum amount of time is 1 hour. It can be changed in increments of 1 minute.
• • Press and hold the wheel to start.
• • For settings under pressure, when cooking is complete you can release pressure/steam two ways:
  • - Natural release occurs when the cooking cycle is complete. The unit will naturally depressurize as it cools. After letting the pressure naturally release for at least 10 minutes, manually release any additional pressure by pressing the steam-release button.
    Note: If foam comes out of the steam-release valve, press the steam-release button again to close the valve and let the unit naturally release for an additional 10 minutes before manually releasing again. Clean the steam-release valve and the pressure indicator.
  • - Manual release occurs when you press the steam-release button to release pressure right after cooking is complete.
    Note: If foam comes out of the steam-release valve, press the steam-release button again to close the valve and let the unit naturally release for an additional 10 minutes before manually releasing again. Clean the steam-release valve and the pressure indicator.

WARNING: After either natural or manual release, make sure the pressure indicator is down before opening the lid.

WARNING: Please refer to ‘USDA Complete Guide to Home Canning’ for details on canning. The Multi-Cooker has not been tested by USDA for food safety in pressure canning.

WARNING: This function has not been tested and approved for sterilization of medical devices.

TROUBLESHOOTING

The cases in the following tables do not always indicate a faulty product.

Problem	Possible Reason	Solution
It's difficult to close the lid.	Pressure indicator is stuck.	Reposition the pressure indicator and try to close the lid again.
	Silicone ring is not installed properly.	Reposition the silicone ring and try to close the lid again.
It’s difficult to open the lid.	The unit is still under pressure.	Open the lid ONLY after the pressure is completely released. Press the steam-release button to release remaining pressure. If no steam comes out after manual release, wait at least 30 minutes after unplugging the unit to attempt to open. If the lid is ever difficult to remove, assume that the unit is still pressurized and do not force the lid open.
	The pressure indicator is stuck.	Contact Pampered Chef at (888) 687- 2433 (United States) or (800) 342-2433 (Canada) for assistance.
Steam is leaking from the side of the lid.	Either the silicone ring is not in place or is improperly installed.	Replace or reinstall the silicone ring.
	There is food debris attached to the silicone ring.	Clean the silicone ring and reinstall properly.
	The silicone ring is damaged.	Replace the silicone ring.
	Back-to-back uses have caused the silicone ring to expand.	Remove the silicone ring from lid and place in ice water for a few minutes, drain and pat dry to replace under lid.
Steam is leaking from pressure indicator. Note: Some steam will leak until cooker comes up to pressure.	There is food debris on the pressure indicator seal.	Clean the pressure indicator seal and reinstall properly
	The pressure indicator seal is worn out.	Contact Solutions Center for replacement seal kit.
	The lid is not fully closed.	Close the lid completely.
The pressure indicator won’t rise.	There’s not enough food or water in the stainless steel inner pot.	Add more food and water according to your recipe.
	Steam is leaking out of one of the seals.	Check that all seals are clean, damage-free and have been properly assembled. Check that steam release valve is installed correctly.
Steam is leaking from the steam-release valve.	The steam-release button is not in the correct position.	Check that steam-release button is not pushed down.
	Steam-release valve is not sealing.	Disassemble and clean the steam-release valve.
	Cannot get unit to hold pressure.	Contact the Solutions Center.
Steam continuously comes out from the steam-release valve.	The steam-release valve is not in the sealed position.	Stop cooking and allow unit to cool completely. Then reposition the steam-release valve. Disassemble and clean the steam-release valve.
	The electronic pressure control system is malfunctioning.	Cease use and unplug the unit. Contact the Solutions Center.
The heating element is not heating food.	The lid is not closed completely.	Attempt to close the lid again.
	The heating element failed.	Contact the Solutions Center.
	Circuit failure.	Contact the Solution Center.
C1/C2 code is appearing on screen.	Bottom sensor failure.	Contact the Solution Center.
C6H code is appearing on screen.	High pressure switch failure.	Unplug the power supply, and after cooling, switch on again. If product still fails, contact the Solution Center.
C6L code appearing on screen	Low pressure switch failure.	Contact the Solutions Center.
Food is undercooked.	There is too little water.	Add water accordingly. Rotate the wheel to Sear and simmer until desired doneness. Adjust next time you make this recipe.
	The cover was opened prematurely.	After the cooking cycle completes, leave the cover on for 5 minutes.
Food is overcooked.	Food was in the unit for too long, or food was kept in Keep Warm setting for too long.	Adjust cooking time the next time you make the recipe.
Unable to depressurize by pressing the steam-release button.	Unit loses power or plug was removed while unit is under pressure.	Allow unit to naturally depressurize. Once the pressure indicator is down, open the lid ONLY after the pressure is completely released.
EU code appearing or flashing on screen.	The display board cannot receive the data sent by the power board.	Press the Cancel button to cancel the operation.
