Floral Flatbread

Turn your pizza crust into a floral garden with this tasty (and easy!) flatbread recipe. Top with Garlic-Parmesan Olive Oil for great flavor.

Ingredients

  •  Oil for greasing
  • 1 lb. (450 g) fresh pizza dough (see cook’s tip)
  • 1   red bell pepper, seeded and sliced
  • 1   yellow bell pepper, seeded and sliced
  • 2   sprigs of parsley
  • 3-5   sage leaves
  • 3   chives or green onions
  • 2   small shallots
  • 4   cherry tomatoes
  • 3   olives
  • 2 tbsp (30 mL) Garlic-Parmesan Olive Oil

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C). Grease the Medium Pizza Stone with oil.
  2. Roll the dough into a circle and transfer to the stone. Use the vegetables and herbs to create flowers and stems on the dough. Brush the dough and vegetables all over with the olive oil.
  3. Bake for 18–20 minutes, or until golden-brown.

Cook's Tips:

You can use fresh pizza dough or two packages of Pizza Crust Mix.

You can make this recipe using the Rosemary Focaccia Bread Mix. Just prepare the dough according to package directions for the Stone Rectangular Baker. Before baking, arrange vegetables and herbs on top of the dough to create flowers and stems. Bake for 22-26 mins, or until golden brown.
