Mixed Berry Compote

Sweet and simple warm mixed berries are perfect for topping Baked Oatmeal.


  • 1   orange
  • 4 cups (1 L) mixed berries (such as raspberries, blueberries, blackberries or sliced strawberries)
  • 1 tbsp (15 mL) granulated sugar


  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Zest orange using Microplane® Adjustable Fine Grater (about 2 tsp/10 mL of zest.) Combine all ingredients in Small Batter Bowl; toss gently to coat.

  2. Place berry mixture in Small Rectangular Baker.

  3.  Bake 15-20 minutes or until berries are slightly soften. Top over Baked Oatmeal


  • 8  servings of about 1/2 cup (125 mL)

Cook's Tips:

Frozen mixed berries, thawed, can be substituted for fresh berries.
