Black Truffle Steak Frites
Steak & fries feels fancy, but it’s simple enough for a weeknight meal!
Ingredients
- Potatoes
- 1 lb. (450 g) potatoes, about 3–4 medium, sliced into fries
- 1 tbsp (15 mL) vegetable oil
- ½ tsp (2 mL) Black Truffle & Herb Seasoning Mix
- 1 tbsp (15 mL) Truffle Finishing Oil
- Steak
- 1 tbsp (15 mL) oil
- 1 tsp (5 mL) Black Truffle & Herb Seasoning Mix
- ½ tsp (2 mL) salt
- 2 boneless New York strip steaks, about 1–1½ lbs. (450–680 g)
- Parmesan Truffle Butter
- ¼ oz. (10 g) Parmesan cheese, finely grated (2 tbsp/30 mL), plus additional for topping
- 1 tbsp (15 mL) parsley, finely chopped, plus additional for topping
- ½ tsp (5 mL) Black Truffle & Herb Seasoning Mix
- 3 tbsp (45 mL) butter, softened
- 1 tbsp (15 mL) Truffle Finishing Oil
- 1/4 oz (10 g) Parmesan cheese, finely grated (2 tbsp/30 mL), plus additional for topping
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) parsley, finely chopped, plus additional for topping
- 1/2 tsp (5 mL) Black Truffle & Herb Seasoning Mix
- Sauce
- ¼ cup (60 mL) mayonnaise
- ¼ cup (60 mL) sour cream or Greek yogurt
- 1 tbsp (15 mL) Truffle Finishing Oil
- 1 tsp (5 mL) Black Truffle & Herb Seasoning Mix
Directions
- Toss the potatoes with the oil and seasoning mix in a medium bowl. Add to the Deluxe Air Fryer & Oven Air Fryer Rack.
- Set the Deluxe Air Fryer & Oven to Heat & Crisp. Adjust the temperature to 375°F (190°C) with high fan and set the time to 20 minutes.
- When the display says, “Add Food,” place the rack in the oven. Press start. Rotate the rack halfway through cooking. When the fries are finished, toss with the Truffle Oil.
- Pat the steak dry with a paper towel. Season both sides with the seasoning mix and salt.
- Preheat a 4.5 qt. (4.3 L) Stainless Steel Saute Pan over high heat for 3 minutes. Sear the steak until golden brown on both sides and medium doneness, about 4-5 minutes per side.
- Combine the butter, Truffle Oil, Parmesan, parsley, and ½ tsp (2 mL) of the seasoning mix in a small bowl; set aside.
- For the sauce, combine the mayonnaise, sour cream, Truffle Oil, and seasoning mix in a small bowl.
- Remove the steak and rest for 5–10 minutes, before slicing. Top the steak with a scoop of the butter and serve with the fries and sauce. Sprinkle with additional Parmesan and parsley, if you’d like.
