Stuffed French Toast

Make breakfast or dessert extra fun with a sweet, simple treat that’s easy to make and sure to be a hit with the kids every time!

Ingredients

  •  Oil for spritzing
  • 2   eggs
  • ¼ cup (60 mL) water or milk
  • 2 tbsp (30 mL) maple syrup
  • 1 tsp (5 mL) Double-Strength Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 12 slices brioche bread
  • 6 tbsp (90 mL) peanut butter, divided
  • 6 tbsp (90 mL) jelly, divided
  •  Optional: Powdered sugar

Directions

  1. Set the Deluxe Air Fryer & Oven to AIR FRY for 12 minutes. Spritz the Small Oven Baking Sheet with oil.
  2. Combine the eggs, water or milk, maple syrup, and vanilla in a shallow bowl.
  3. Place 1 tbsp (15 mL) of peanut butter and 1 tbsp (15 mL) of jelly between 2 slices of the bread. Press down gently if your bread is thick.
  4. Position the Cut-N-Seal® over the bread. Hold the handle and gently rock back and forth until the bread is cut and sealed.
  5. Dip each sandwich in the egg mixture and place on the greased Small Oven Baking Sheet.
  6. When the display says, “Add Food,” place the pan in the oven (on the Wire Rack); press START. Rotate the pan halfway through cooking.
  7. Rest for 5 minutes before serving. Top with powdered sugar, if you’d like.

Cook's Tips:

Don’t throw away the crusts! Cut them into sticks and toss them in a large bowl with 2 tbsp (30 mL) of melted butter, 1 tbsp (15 mL) of sugar, and 1 tsp (5  mL) of cinnamon. Air fry for 5 minutes, then serve.

Make it your own with toppings like powdered sugar, cinnamon, maple syrup, or chocolate sauce. Or try it with other fillings!

  • Strawberry Chocolate (per sandwich)
    • Half a finely chopped strawberry
    • 1 tbsp (15 mL) of cream cheese
    • 10 chocolate

  • Nutella® Banana (per sandwich)
    • 1 tbsp (15 mL) Nutella®
    • 5–7 thin banana slices

 

To help seal the filling in, brush a small amount of the egg mixture around the filling before using the Cut ‘N Seal®. 

Double this recipe and bake it on 2 foil-lined and greased Air Fryer Racks if you’re feeding a crowd!
