With our Shortbread Cookie Mix, you can whip up a batch of buttery shortbread cookies. Combine the mix with butter to create a dough and you’re halfway there. Then, break out your cookie cutters!

No matter which cookie cutters you use, the dough will hold its shape as it bakes. That means your cookies will actually look like the cookie cutter shapes you wanted, and they won’t expand in the oven.

After your cookies bake, you can enjoy them with a cup of coffee, tea, or milk. Or take it a step further and customize your cookies with a sweet or savory spread. They pair perfectly with royal icing, fruity jams, and even savory dips like pesto or smoked salmon dip.

Ways to Use

Shortbread Cookies

1. Place 1 cup (250 mL) softened butter (2 sticks) in the bowl of a mixer. Beat on medium speed until smooth, about 1 minute.
2. Add the Shortbread Cookie Mix and combine on low speed until the butter is well incorporated, about 1 minute.
3. Shape the dough into a flat disc. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1 hour.
4. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
5. Roll the dough out to a ¼" (6 mm) thickness on a lightly floured surface. Cut the dough into your desired shapes and transfer the cut-out cookies to a cookie sheet.
6. Bake on the middle rack for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges just begin to turn golden brown. For crunchier cookies, bake for an additional 2–3 minutes.
7. Cool for 3 minutes then transfer to a cooling rack to cool completely.
