USE AND CARE
How to Charge Your Electric Wine Opener & Preserver Set
- • We recommend charging it before its first use.
- • Connect the Type USB-C charging cable to an adapter, plug an adapter (not included) into an electric socket, and connect the Type USB-C charging cable to the Type USB-C port interface at the back of the opener or the back of the base.
- • Use only the included USB-C cord with an adapter with an output of 5V DC 1A like a Type-USB C smartphone charger adapter.
- • If charging on the base, ensure that the unit is fully in the base with the Pampered Chef logo facing forward.
How to Read the Indicator Lights
- • When you place the Electric Wine Opener & Preserver Set in the base, the blue LED light will flash a blue light. It will then flash red and then glow a consistent blue light. This blue light will continue when the unit is seated on the base.
- • Ensure the connections are fully engaged.
- • While it charges, the charging indicator light on the upper body will illuminate white. When it’s fully charged, all four dots will be white.
- • It takes about two and half hours to fully charge the battery.
- • Note: The battery level is displayed on the Electric Wine Opener & Preserver Set.
- • When the battery power is weak, only one white dot will illuminate. If the battery is too low, place it back on the charging base and the dot will begin to blink. Once it’s fully charged, all four dots will remain solid white.
- • This is a lithium-battery rechargeable product. We recommend charging it every three months to ensure service life of the battery.
- • The product will not work when it’s charging.
To Open a Wine Bottle
- 1. Remove the foil cap from the wine bottle with the included foil cutter before using the Electric Wine Opener & Preserver.
- • Align the foil cutter over the bottle’s neck.
- • Grasp the sides of the foil cutter with your thumb and fingers while rotating the bottle.
- • After one or two complete rotations, remove the cutter from the bottle’s neck. Remove and discard the foil.
- 2. Hold the Wine Opener and bottle firmly. Place the corkscrew on top of the bottle in the center of the cork. Then, press the button once to activate the motor. Ensure the Wine Opener is upright. (If it’s at an angle to the bottle, it will not remove the cork properly.) The corkscrew will turn and enter the cork. Then, gradually remove it from the bottle. When the mechanism stops, the cork will be visible through the transparent window and the blue indicator light will go off.
- 3. Lift the Wine Opener away from the bottle. The cork will automatically release from the bottle, and the corkscrew will turn and release the cork.
- 4. Return the Wine Opener to the Charging Base. Keep it there when you’re storing it, not using it, or charging it to protect the mechanism.
- 5. This Wine Opener is designed to be used with traditional corks, but it may be used with synthetic corks as well.
- • Synthetic corks are smaller and do not expand like normal corks so they may stick onto the corkscrew.
- • If this happens, hold the cork firmly with a small pair of pliers, not your hand. Press the Reset Button on the back of the Wine Opener. The corkscrew will activate for several seconds and turn it counterclockwise, releasing the cork. Repeat if needed.
Serving Wine With the Aerating Pourer
- 1. Ensure the wine bottle is on a flat surface. Place the Aerating Pourer snugly into the bottle neck to allow the wine to pour smoothly without splashing.
- 2. To remove, place the bottle on a flat surface. Grip the bottle with one hand and the Aerating Pourer with the other. Pull the Aerating Pourer away from the bottle.
Sealing a Wine Bottle With the Preserver
- 1. Place a wine bottle on a flat surface.
- 2. Insert the Wine Stopper into the wine bottle.
- 3. Hold the Wine Stopper and wine bottle neck securely in one hand and place the mouth of the Wine Preserver on the Wine Stopper. See illustration.
- 4. Press down on the Wine Preserver using a light, steady pressure on the Wine Stopper and ensure the Wine Preserver is straight and in line with the Wine Bottle. You will hear a noise and the blue vacuum indication light on the top will illuminate.
- 5. The motor will stop working after approximately 15 seconds and make a beeping sound. Note: Do NOT lift the Wine Preserver up until the motor stops. Note: If your bottle is less than half full, we suggest you repeat the process above a second time to remove more air for maximum preservation.
- 6. Remove and return the Wine Preserver to the Charging Base. Keep it there when you’re storing it, not using it, or charging it to protect the mechanism.
- 7. Turn the number ring on the Wine Sealer to line up the arrow with today’s date to help you remember when you sealed this particular bottle of wine. Note: If it’s difficult to remove the Wine Preserver from the Wine Stopper, hold the Wine Stopper and the neck of the bottle securely in one hand and tilt the Wine Preserver away from the Wine Stopper to break the suction. This should prevent air from re-entering the bottle. If in doubt, repeat the above operating process.
