CLEANING

- Make alcoholic quicksicles with up to 1 tbsp (15 mL) in each quicksicle. Note: Results may vary based on alcohol proof.
- Use thinly sliced fruit. To add, press the slices against the walls of the molds before adding liquid.
- Use chilled liquids.
- Use plain water, carbonated beverages, plain yogurt, ice cream, or pudding.
- Use artificially sweetened mixtures.
- Make quicksicles using only alcohol or alcoholic beverages.

USE AND CARE
1. FREEZE THE QUICKSICLE MAKER. Molds must be COMPLETELY DRY. Ensure the freezer’s temperature is set to 0°F (-18°C) or less. Place the base LEVEL AND UPRIGHT in the freezer for 24 hours. Quicksicles will not freeze if the Quicksicle Maker is placed upside down or sideways in the freezer. 
2. PREPARE YOUR RECIPE. Chill the liquid before making quicksicles for faster freezing. NOTE: The Quicksicle Maker works best with juice. Do not use sugar-free beverages or beverages with artificial sweeteners. 3. INSERT THE STICKS. Remove the base from the freezer and insert the sticks. Align the tabs with the notch in the mold. 
4. ADD YOUR RECIPE. While keeping the stick straight inside the mold, slowly pour the mixture into the molds and stop just before the fill line. If the molds are overfilled, finished quicksicles will be difficult to remove. 
5. FREEZE. Depending on your recipe, it’ll take 8–15 minutes for quicksicles to freeze if the mixture was pre-chilled and the base is left on the counter. There may be some liquid near the top of the stick; you can use a cake tester or toothpick to test whether it’s frozen. Put the base into the freezer to shorten the freeze time. 6. REMOVE. Once the quicksicles are frozen, place the key LEVEL AND UPRIGHT over the stick (A) and rotate clockwise with one hand (B). The key should spin easily until it touches the top of the metal mold. Only apply force when turning the key once it comes into contact with the top of the mold. If you don’t feel tension when turning the key, the quicksicle isn’t ready. Continue turning the key until the tension releases: you’ll see the quicksicle loosen from the walls of the mold and start to rise slightly. When the key feels very easy to turn, the quicksicle is fully loosened. Turn the key counterclockwise (C) to remove the key. Lift the quicksicle slowly, straight up and out of mold (D). 
7. REPEAT! You can make up to three batches of quicksicles until the base needs to be frozen again. TIPS
- To prolong usage and to shorten quicksicle freezing time, carefully place the Quicksicle Maker back in freezer after adding mixture.
- Don’t wiggle quicksicles when removing them from the molds. It can cause them to break or fall off the stick.
- If you do not feel tension when twisting the key on, the quicksicle isn’t ready yet. See Troubleshooting chart.
- If you try to remove a quicksicle that isn’t fully frozen, add a little more mixture to fill the gap and let it refreeze for a few minutes.
- Store quicksicles in a glass or plastic container and freeze with parchment paper in between each quicksicle to make large batches.
- If you’re adding thinly sliced fruit, press the slices against wall of the mold before adding liquid.
- If your quicksicle mixture includes solids like cookies, graham crackers, etc., ensure they are very finely chopped.
- Do not use plain water or sugar-free beverages in the mold, as the quicksicles may become too difficult to remove and may damage the key and/or handles.
- If you’re making quicksicles with stripes, they’ll take longer because each layer needs to be fully frozen before adding the next.
TROUBLESHOOTING
Problem Solution My quicksicle is stuck in the mold. HELP! - DO NOT USE BEVERAGES WITH ARTIFICIAL SWEETENERS like sucralose, aspartame, saccharin, etc. Plain water, carbonated beverages, or beverages that do not have enough sugar may get stuck in the Quicksicle Maker.
- Make sure the Quicksicle Maker is COMPLETELY DRY before putting it in the freezer. ANY water that remains in the molds before freezing may prevent the quicksicles from being removed.
- Do not fill beyond the fill line. If the molds are too full, the quicksicles may be impossible to remove without defrosting.
- Make sure the sticks are in place and positioned properly BEFORE and AFTER pouring ingredients into the molds.
- If a quicksicle is stuck, do not apply excessive force to the key or try to pry it out. Turn they key as tight as you can with one hand, then let the Quicksicle Maker sit for about 1 minute. If the quicksicle still won’t come out, defrost the Quicksicle Maker by running it under warm water, refreeze the unit, and try again with another kind of mixture. (See cleaning instructions).
- The stick may slip out of soft or high-fat ingredients. Check and see if the stick is slipping out of the pop. If so, try other ingredients or wait longer for the quicksicle to freeze.
The key is stuck. If the key becomes hard to turn or jams BEFORE it comes into contact with the top of the mold, unscrew it and try again. The key should spin easily until it touches the top of the metal mold. To keep the key from jamming, keep it LEVEL AND UPRIGHT when spinning it onto the stick. Only apply turning force once the key comes into contact with the top of the mold. This will lift the quicksicle from the mold. The stick came out and the quicksicle stayed in the mold. The ingredients were not completely frozen or they were too soft (some types of ice cream, puddings, and yogurt may not work well). Try waiting longer before removing the quicksicles, or try different ingredients. The tip of the quicksicle stayed in the mold. The stick was not fully inserted into the mold cavity. Make sure there is no frozen water at the bottom of the mold, and fully insert the stick into the mold BEFORE adding liquid. The tabs on the stick will not sit properly in the mold. Insert the sticks BEFORE adding liquids, and make sure there aren’t ingredients at the bottom of the mold cavity (nuts, fruit, etc.). If the sticks are not seated properly, the quicksicles will be difficult to remove. The quicksicles take a very long time to freeze or won't freeze at all. - The Quicksicle Maker was not completely frozen. Be sure to freeze the base for 24 hours before using.

In order to properly freeze the Quicksicle Maker, your freezer needs to be set to 0°F (-18°C) or below, which is also the ideal temperature for food storage. Try placing the unit in a different part of the freezer. Different parts of the freezer have different temperatures.
The ingredients are too warm. You can make multiple
batches of quicksicles in quick succession. Leaving too much time between batches or using warm ingredients will cause the Quicksicle Maker to defrost.- Layered quicksicles take longer to make than single-flavored ones. You may not be able to make as many back-to-back batches without refreezing the base.
- There is too much alcohol, fat, or thickening agent (like xanthan gum, carrageenan gum, locust bean gum, agar, etc.) in the recipe, which can keep the quicksicles from fully freezing.
