Pressure Cooker Ginger Sesame Beef

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp (15 mL) canola oil
  • 1–1½ lbs. (450–700 g) boneless beef chuck, cut into strips
  • 1 jar (12 oz. or 340 g) Ginger Sesame Meal Starter

Directions

  1. Set the Deluxe Multi Cooker to SEAR; press START. Add 1 tbsp (15 mL) canola oil and brown 1–1½ lbs. (450–700 g) boneless beef chuck, cut into strips.* Press CANCEL.
  2. Add one jar of the Ginger Sesame Meal Starter. Lock the lid and set to CUSTOM. Adjust the time to 10 minutes; press START. When the timer is up, let the pressure release naturally for 10 minutes. Then, press the steam-release button.
  3. Serve with cooked rice and steamed broccoli.

Cook's Tips:

Add 1½ cups (375 mL) long grain rice to 1½ cups (375 mL) water to the Ceramic Pot. Cook the rice in the Quick Cooker with the beef.

*Safety Tip: The stainless steel inner pot will be hot during and after cooking. Use a long-handled utensil when stirring and removing food.

Microwave: We do not recommend microwave directions using the recipe provided on the label of the meal starter because of the cut of meat used in the recipe.

Stovetop: Cut beef into 2” strips. Preheat 12" Nonstick Skillet over medium-high heat for 3-5 minutes. Add 1 tbsp (15 mL) of oil and brown the beef for 1-2 minutes. Add the Ginger Sesame Meal Starter and 1/2 cup (125 mL) water. Simmer for 8-10 minutes, uncovered, over low heat.

Slow Cooker: Trim excess fat from beef and cut beef into 2” strips. Heat 1 tbsp (15 mL) of oil in the Rockcrok® Dutch Oven or the Rockcrok® Everyday Pan over medium-high heat for 5 minutes. Brown the beef for 1-2 minutes. Transfer the Rockcrok® to the Rockcrok® Slow Cooker Stand and add the Ginger Sesame Meal Starter. Replace the lid and cook for 2 hours on HIGH (or 4 hours on LOW).
