Cupcake Cones

Did cupcakes just get cuter!? Homemade cupcakes baked in cones are an adorable base for a swirl of frosting that looks just like soft serve.

Ingredients

  • 12   cake cones
  • 1¾ cups (425 mL) yellow cake mix (about half of a (15 oz./375 g cake mix)
  • ½ cup (125 mL) milk
  • ¼ cup (60 mL) vegetable oil
  • 1   egg
  •  Flavored Buttercream Frosting in two flavors
  •  Optional Toppings: Rainbow sprinkles, cherries

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Place the Cupcake Pan upside down on a sheet pan. Place the cones in the holes.
  3. Combine the cake mix, milk, oil, and egg in the bowl of the Deluxe Stand Mixer. Mix on medium speed for about 2 minutes.
  4. Scoop the batter evenly into the ice cream cones using a large scoop.
  5. Bake for 24­–26 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the centers comes out clean.
  6. Remove the pan from the oven and place on a cooling rack to cool completely.
  7. Fit the Dual Piping Bags with the large star tip. Scoop one flavor of frosting into each bag. Pipe the frosting onto each cupcake in a swirl.
  8. Top with sprinkles and a cherry, if you’d like.
