Cupcake Cones
Did cupcakes just get cuter!? Homemade cupcakes baked in cones are an adorable base for a swirl of frosting that looks just like soft serve.
Ingredients
- 12 cake cones
- 1¾ cups (425 mL) yellow cake mix (about half of a (15 oz./375 g cake mix)
- ½ cup (125 mL) milk
- ¼ cup (60 mL) vegetable oil
- 1 egg
- Flavored Buttercream Frosting in two flavors
- Optional Toppings: Rainbow sprinkles, cherries
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Place the Cupcake Pan upside down on a sheet pan. Place the cones in the holes.
- Combine the cake mix, milk, oil, and egg in the bowl of the Deluxe Stand Mixer. Mix on medium speed for about 2 minutes.
- Scoop the batter evenly into the ice cream cones using a large scoop.
- Bake for 24–26 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the centers comes out clean.
- Remove the pan from the oven and place on a cooling rack to cool completely.
- Fit the Dual Piping Bags with the large star tip. Scoop one flavor of frosting into each bag. Pipe the frosting onto each cupcake in a swirl.
- Top with sprinkles and a cherry, if you’d like.
