Flavored Buttercream Frosting

Here are 3 variations of buttercream frostings that help take the stress out of baking with the Deluxe Stand Mixer!

Ingredients

    Vanilla Buttercream
  • ¾ cup (175 mL) butter, softened (1 ½ sticks)
  • 1 tsp (5 mL) vanilla extract
  • ⅛ tsp (0.5 mL) salt
  • 3 cups (750 mL) powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp (30 mL) milk
    Chocolate Buttercream
  • ¾ cup (175 mL) butter, softened (1½ sticks)
  • ½ cup (125 mL) cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp (5 mL) vanilla extract
  • ⅛ tsp (0.5 mL) salt
  • 3 cups (750 mL) powdered sugar
  • ¼ cup (60 mL) milk
  • ¼ tsp (0.5 mL) espresso powder (optional)
    Strawberry Buttercream
  • ¾ cup (175 mL) butter, softened (1 1/2 sticks)
  • 3 cups (750 mL) powdered sugar
  • ¼ cup (60 mL) strawberry jam
  • ½ tsp (5 mL) vanilla extract
  • ⅛ tsp (0.5 mL) salt

Directions

  1. Add all of the ingredients to the bowl of the Deluxe Stand Mixer. Select CREAM for 3 minutes and 30 seconds. Press START.
  2. Transfer to a piping bag or spread with an offset spatula to frost cupcakes, cakes or other baked goods.
