Grilled Pineapple Pound Cake

You can taste the tropics in this simple, tempting dessert.

Ingredients

  • 1   fresh pineapple
  • 1   frozen pound cake (10.75 oz/300 g), thawed
  •  Vanilla ice cream or thawed frozen whipped topping

Directions

  1. Core, peel, and halve the pineapple with the Pineapple Wedger. Cut half of the pineapple into 8 slices. (Use the remaining pineapple for salsa or cocktails.) Cut the pound cake into 8 slices.

  2. Heat the Indoor Outdoor Portable Grill to medium heat for 3–5 minutes. Add 4 pieces each of the pound cake and pineapple to the grill.

  3. Grill the pound cake for 15–20 seconds per side. Grill the pineapple about 3 minutes per side or until grill marks appear.

  4. Repeat with the remaining pound cake and pineapple.

  5. Top each piece of pound cake with a slice of pineapple. Garnish with ice cream or whipped topping.
