Eggs in a Frame


  • 4 slices sandwich bread
  • 1 tbsp (15 mL) butter
  • 4   eggs
  •  Salt and ground black pepper to taste


  1. Cut a 2 1/2-inch (6-cm) circle out of center of each bread slice (reserve bread centers for another use). Melt butter on Square Griddle (11"/28 cm) over medium heat, spreading to coat bottom. Place bread slices on griddle, turning once to coat both sides of bread lightly with melted butter.

  2. Carefully crack one egg into center of each bread slice. Cook 3-4 minutes or until egg is softly set. Carefully turn bread slices over. Cook 1-2 additional minutes or until egg is cooked to desired doneness. Season to taste with salt and black pepper.
