Mai Tai Cocktails

This drink is typically made with two types of rum, orange liqueur and other unique ingredients. We'’ve simplified the recipe with equally delicious results.

Ingredients

  • 1   medium orange
  • 5 cups (1.25 L) orange-pineapple juice
  • 3 cups (750 mL) sweet & sour mix
  • 2 tsp (10 mL) almond extract
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) grenadine
  • 1 1/2 cups (375 mL) dark rum
  •  Maraschino cherries (optional)

Directions

  1. On Cutting Board, cut orange crosswise into four 1/4-inch-thick (6-mm) slices using Utility Knife. Cut slices in half; set aside for garnish.

  2. Add orange-pineapple juice, sweet & sour mix and almond extract to Quick-Stir® Pitcher; plunge gently.

  3. To serve, fill each of eight Dots Beverage Glasses with 1 cup (250 mL) ice. For each serving, pour 1 tbsp (15 mL) grenadine over ice using Adjustable Measuring Spoon. Add 1 cup (250 mL) of the orange juice mixture; top with 3 tbsp (45 mL) rum using Easy Read Mini Measuring Cup. Garnish glasses with reserved orange slices and cherries, if desired.
